In-Vitro Cytotoxicity Evaluation of MariXBioHeal™ Collagen

Overview

Rozhan Vista Mehr Co. performed an in-vitro cytotoxicity study on MariXBioHeal™ Native Marine Type I Collagen to confirm its biological safety. The evaluation was conducted at the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NIGEB) at the Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute  under ISO 10993-5 guidelines.

Method

• Cell line: L929 mouse fibroblasts
• Assay: MTT colorimetric assay
• Exposure time: 24 hours
• Standard reference: ISO 10993-5, ISO 10993-12

Results

• Mean cell viability: 95.51%
• Morphological grade: 0 (no changes observed)
• ISO acceptance limit: ≥70% viability
• Outcome: Non-cytotoxic

Key Message

MariXBioHeal™ collagen demonstrated excellent cytocompatibility, showing no toxic effects on cultured fibroblast cells.
