Skin Sensitization Assessment of MariXBioHeal™ Collagen

Overview

To evaluate the potential for skin sensitization, MariXBioHeal™ Native Marine Type I Collagen underwent the Guinea Pig Maximization Test (GPMT). The study was conducted at the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NIGEB) following ISO 10993-10 protocols.

Method

  • Species: Albino guinea pigs
  • Groups: 10 test animals, 5 controls
  • Phases: Intradermal induction → topical induction → challenge
  • Observation period: 24h and 48h post-challenge

Results

  • Test animals: all scores = 0
  • Control animals: all scores = 0
  • No erythema or edema observed
  • Outcome: Non-sensitizing

Key Message

MariXBioHeal™ collagen showed no evidence of allergic or sensitization reactions, confirming its compliance with ISO 10993-10.
